Stephen graduated from the College of Charleston in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. While in Charleston, Stephen lost a dear friend of his to a brain tumor which inspired Stephen to begin taking neuroscience coursework and join a research laboratory focused on designing nano-therapies for brain tumor patients. Following his time in Charleston, he was awarded a Cancer Research Training Award (CRTA) Fellowship and spent two and a half years at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) developing immunotherapy-based clinical trials for brain tumor patients and contributing to laboratory studies aimed at reversing brain tumor induced immune suppression. In addition to his work at NIH, Stephen also completed a Master of Science in Biotechnology at Johns Hopkins University.

Stephen is now a third-year medical student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and is currently on a research leave of absence while he completes a Medical Scholars Research (MSRF) Fellowship at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA. He is also completing a Master of Medical Science in Clinical Investigation at Harvard Medical School during this time. Stephen’s projects at Dana-Farber are focused on targeting developmental pathways that contribute to the growth of pediatric brain tumors.

Tim earned a degree in Cognitive Neuroscience and Biomedical Physics with Honors from Washington University in St. Louis. He was a 3-time conference champion in the pole vault and served as a captain of his track and field team. He was also a live-in Chemistry tutor in the first-year dorms, hosting late-night office hours to teach chemistry and broader learning strategies. He attended Georgetown University School of Medicine and is a resident physician completing a preliminary year in Internal Medicine at Pennsylvania Hospital before his Ophthalmology residency at the University of Pennsylvania Scheie Eye Institute in Philadelphia.
