Clarence attended Hartwick College, where he received a degree in Business Management. He began his career in higher education at his alma mater, recruiting in various markets that included territories in New York State (Counties of- Ulster, Rockland, Orange, Montgomery, Sullivan, Dutchess, Columbia, and Putnam), Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Maine. Clarence moved on to work at the SC Johnson School of Business, formerly The Johnson School at Cornell University. At Cornell he first started out as a first line operations team member for the two-year MBA program. Clarence shifted to the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, under the umbrella of the admissions office. His focus was on recruitment of “under represented groups,” i.e. Black, Hispanic/Latino, and Women prospective candidates, and he was a vital member of the admissions committee. Clarence’s overall approach to admissions has ensured that all students he worked with were the right “fit” for Hartwick or Cornell.
